I’m fifth generation Australian
but proud of my strong Celtic past

Blended with Irish and English

Just twenty years of age you showed how it was done

As you lay there silently just outside the shoots

Slowly I picked up your hat and took care of your boots

Australia's best in the game met their match in you

Though time has dimmed the heartbreak caused memories were made
